UNKNOWN WAR

Project Description

The material of new photo series “Unknown War” is a synthesis of several photographic genres; it is a new form of storytelling that brings out many issues (political, social, artistic). not only presents artist’s reflection on what we all went through since 2020, but also raises issues related to the role and place of traditional photography in the digital era, touches upon practical and theoretical issues of local “reportage”/document/ and global dialogue.

Many people might call it a photo project while as a photographer, what I started before 2020 crisis pandemic and war, I would call a book. It would be difficult to interpret it as literature, because, firstly, it uses the language of photographic images, and secondly, literature likes to answer questions that, in reality, are either not questions or not answers.

The photos from new photo series (I would prefer the art works definition in this case) presents artistic transformations of the visual document – transparent, colored reflections of the “calendar” created in front of my “thoughtful” window of the multi-stored building overlooking the children’s playground… My “calendar” notes: September 27…, October 6, 27…
November 9…
